The University Printing Press (UPK) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has donated a new set of Dell computer and a printer to the University Relations Office (URO) as part of its social responsibility obligation towards the University. The computer device which was donated to enhance existing working relations between the two Units is expected to be mounted at the Publications and Documentation Unit of the University Relations Office.
In a formal presentation, the Manager of University Printing Press (UPK), Mr. Michael Afrifa Darko, handed over the electronic items to the Relations Office, and described the donation as a means of maintaining the healthy working relations between the two Units. He estimated the cost of the set of Dell flat screen computer with its accessories and a printer at GH¢ 1,950.
Giving his acceptance remarks, the Deputy Registrar in-charge of the University Relations, Mr. Solomon Panford, was overwhelmed for the kind gesture, especially for a unit to donate to another unit within the same institution. He therefore, expressed appreciation to the Management and staff of the University Press for the generous offer.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Peter Donkor, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, expressed gratitude to the UPK for the remarkable donation. He encouraged Management of UPK to extend its benevolence to other related units of the University. Professor Donkor used the occasion to wish staff of UPK a "Happy New Year", and urged Management to grow from strength to strength.
In a word of prayer, the University Chaplain, Rev. Dr. Paul K. Boafo, dedicated the computer to the Almighty God for good use and long lifespan. Other officers present were: Mr. Kojo Assan Mbra, Head of Publications and Documentation (URO), Mr. Alfred Appiah of URO, Mr. Obeng Darko, Accountant of UPK and Mr. Duah Boakye, member of the Management Committee of UPK.
